I am a Gemini and my birthday is on May 27th. I share the same birthday with Jeff Bagwell, Henry Kissinger, Vincent Price, Louis Gossett, Jr., Paul Bettany, Leif Penn Marketing Manager for www.HoustonConnect.com and local Greensheet employee and pre-dating Event Coordinator, Aurora Nelson. Join me for a FIRE AND ICE birthday party with my co-hosts and other "May babies," Kim Edwards, Aurora Nelson, and Maia. The event is open to the public and all of you on this newsletter list should receive a personal email invitation. The party is this Saturday May 21st, beginning at 9:00 at 6° Lounge. Wear red, look hot and be prepared to party with some of the city's coolest people. We'll have ice block shots, and two body-painted models (one fire, one ice, of course.) Artist, Maia, whose work adorns a few of the walls at 6° will paint the models. To get a sneak preview of her work, visit www.erosartbymaia.com. For those of you who are interested in overnight accommodations downtown after the big party, call J. Foster at the Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott on Dallas, across from Foley's, to book a room for the 21st. He can be reached at 713-576-2282. Tell him the Queen of Clubs referred you.

It's time for another amazing after-hours event from the hotties at Spoiled Boyz and Beyond Entertainment. This month's aptly named ROLLS ROYCE of after-parties will be late night on Saturday, May 21st at the newly redecorated Ultra (formerly Empire Bar) located at 108 Main Street. Experience the driving beats of NYC's DJ Joey Smoke in the Main Room and Houston favorite DJ Dan Meader in the Groove Lounge. Auto Regalia/ Paraphernalia accessories encouraged. Doors open at 3:30AM. $15 advance tickets available at M2M Fashion. Plan now to stop by and "toot your own horn" on the dance floor. Rev up your engine for a great time as these parties always get great mileage in the fast lane.

Lemongrass Cafe is located in the city of Bellaire, but the crowd that frequents the place is a lot of the downtown/uptown crowd. I noticed that Lemongrass Cafi received recognition as one of the Top Ten new restaurants of 2004, according to www.citysearch.com. I believe www.citysearch.com is a very trustworthy and reliable source. Six out of Eight reader reviews on Citysearch gave Lemongrass a "Highly Recommended" rating. Their style of cuisine is Asian Fusion and here are a few menu descriptions that caught my eye, the Gorgonzola Salad which is a crispy baked Gorgonzola pouch with greens and candied walnuts and a roasted Asian Pear Vinaigrette. Also, the Crab Curry Spring Rolls which are Spring Rolls with fried jumbo lump crabmeat and Indian Curry with a side of Cilantro-Jalapeno Verdi Mayonnaise. Yowsah, those sound scrumptious. When you visit Lemongrass Cafi, tell Theo Vera the Queen says hello.

MERGE will host their launch party for the new Houston-based charity, The Endeavor for Hope Foundation. The Endeavor for Hope Foundation's focus will be to raise awareness and to generate public support for socioeconomic initiatives for targeted impoverished communities in Africa and the Caribbean. The charitable event, along with MERGE!'s sexy sophistication, style and culture, will bring people together for a pleasurable night of spectacular ambiance, music and fun. It's on the same night as my FIRE AND ICE party, so try to make BOTH events. The MERGE party will feature a VIP bar, an African dance performance by Kuumba House, traditional masquerade and drumming from Nigeria, gift bags from Farouk Systems USA and Thomas Cousin, manager at Chi Salon at Biosilk Spa, Art work by Dominique Feneyrou (he's a sexy bald Frenchman who give delicious hugs,) lottery for 10 free Pilates sessions from Pilates Houston and free personal training sessions by Houston's Leanne Bratcher, which includes 3 month gym membership at 24hours Fitness. It all goes down at Escobar (2905 Travis) and doors open at 8:00PM for a private VIP reception cocktail party and the public can come in after 10:00PM. Tickets available for $25 (tax-deductible) for the VIP party (8-10PM.) $5 pre-sale or $10 at the door for regular admission (10PM-2AM). The goal of MERGE is to create a cosmopolitan awakening in Houston and to "step things up a notch." MERGE chose the launching of the "Endeavor for Hope Foundation" as its premier event because part of the MERGE philosophy is that "...there is no better reason to party, than to party for a good cause..." If you want tickets, more info or to make a donation, email info@www.merge247.com.

There is a food festival being presented by Mia Bella Restaurant and Saffron Moroccan Cuisine on Sunday May 22nd, from 3:00 - 7:00PM. It's called "Lazy Day on Lexington" and a portion of the proceeds benefit the Richwood Place Association, Neartown Association & Montrose Super Neighborhood. I got the inside scoop from my friend, Pamela St. Cyr. You can call her at 713-523-2428 and she'll tell you all the juicy details. The festivities included Jazz Band, a strolling accordion, two belly dance shows at 4PM and 6PM, beer, wine and frozen delights (featuring Peroni beer, Bellinis, Pompar, and cherry limeade,) and Katz fresh roasted coffee and hot tea just to mention a few of the highlights. That sounds divine. Call for reservations, as spaces are filling up quickly!

Planning a bachelorette party? Erotic Cabaret has two locations and they sell all kinds of party favors and novelties. I recently bought some "items to entice" at their store. The sales person, Linda, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in showing me what the various gadgets performed. It was very educational and I was fascinated with all the creative products they carry. 1222 & 6509 Westheimer are the convenient addresses of the Erotic Cabaret stores or online at www.eroticcabaret.com. There is also Dare Ware for sexy duds, toys, adult novelties and gag gifts. Citysearch rates Dare Ware 7.5, while both Erotic Cabaret locations scored a 9. Need I say more? Dare Ware is there, but I say always go to Erotic Cabaret because it's the Queen's favorite. Houston Press's Nightfly (Sir Brian McManus) wrote an article called "Good Vibrations" in the May 5th issue, featuring his adventure at a Passion Party at someone's home. He makes me laugh every week with his witty banter. I am a big fan and avid reader of the Houston Press. Check out www.passionparties.com to see the line of merchandise or to book a party of your own. I was inspired by the article enough to book one of my own parties. Another great resource is www.bacheloretteparties.com.
