If you would like to become a sponsor with either a logo ad at $29 or a line ad of your business click here. Your logo or line name of your business will be linked to a web form allowing readers of the newsletter to subscribe to your email list! Tonight's the Maxim Magazine party! Wahoo! Who's going? I'll see you there. Speaking of exciting stuff, did you notice the extra newsletter issues this month? Now that we have so many sponsors, I can send out more than two issues a month. Tell me your thoughts, is a newsletter every week too often? Let me know if you prefer once a week or three or four times a month. Really, I want to hear from you because I write this for all of my readers so I want to do what keeps ya'll smiling! More issues will mean more nightlife and event news for you to enjoy. If you are interested in a sponsor box, contact khail@hypermail.cc. Sponsor boxes are only $19 per issue and each issue reaches over 12,300 email addresses.

I have BIG news! I am embarking on a new adventure. I will be leaving Slainte and the Ruby Room and, as of June 6th, I will be the full-time Marketing Director for 6° Lounge, www.sixdl.com. As most of you know, I have been working part-time at 6° since January and I am just crazy about everything that has to do with 6° Lounge. I love my job there, the staff, and the guests who come in. I am happier there than any other venue I've worked for in my career. My replacement at Slainte will be Mariana Gomez. She has several years of experience in the bar business and is a 2005 U of H graduate with a degree in Marketing and Public Relations, so she comes to the plate ready to swing a home run. I wish her all the success in the world and I hope that she will love her new position just as much as I've loved what I've been doing in this biz for the past ten years. For booking or event inquiries, contact Mariana at m_slainte@yahoo.com or stop by Slainte and the Ruby Room to say hello to her on the nights she also works behind the bar, on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Slainte will no longer use the email events@slainteirishpub.com, so switch to Mariana's new email mentioned above to reach her or use kim@sixdl.com to reach me. I wish to say what a great experience it has been to work there and thank you to Al, Tri, Tony, Jason and Ian for the opportunity. I'll miss you all, but I'm just four blocks north at 911 Franklin now, so I'll be sure to visit often and I'll definitely return for the second annual Reddish Fetish party at the Ruby Room on July 15th. Don't forget about the great beer special at Slainte on home game days, $1 domestic drafts two hours before until two hours after every home game.

Everyone is calling 6° Lounge at 911 Franklin Street the "Intelligent Choice" for happy hour. Their weekday specials including $2 domestics, $3 wells and $1 off all other drinks until 11PM. 6° provides an ideal atmosphere for hosting events. Tuesday through Friday, doors open at 5PM for happy hour that extends until 11PM, which is the longest happy hour downtown, spanning six hours. Try a concoction from the award-winning martini menu. Wednesdays are 'Smarty Pants' and offer smart music for smart people from 9PM to 2AM and it's also Service Industry Night. Thursdays are called 'Bump' so you can jump-start your weekend. The good times keep rolling into Fridays and Saturdays with DJ Soul Tower 606. Add www.sixdl.com to your favorites in your browser to stay "in the know on where to go." What other bar in town do you know where you can find Tuesdays hosted by the owner himself serving up $2 drinks?

Yep, see Gary Murphy in action on Tuesdays. A few ladies and myself are hosting a Passion Party at the lounge on Friday, June 3rd from 6-9PM. The party is co-ed and open to the public, but you need to RSVP to kim@sixdl.com. In the meantime, before the party, you can preview the goodies we'll see at the party at www.purepassion.net. Join us at 9PM at 6° Lounge tomorrow night for a Memorial Weekend Kick-off party hosted by myself and the gorgeous twosome of Theresa Lara and Angela Trevino.

The Red Lion at 2316 Shepherd is introducing new happy hour drink specials with yummy free bites and good times for summer. "Indian Summer Happy Hour" features Indian Pizza bites and Indian spicy quesadillas, and $5 Martini Specials, $2 Longnecks, $4 Pints and $5 Wine. These specials are all day Saturday and Sunday and Monday - Friday from 4-7PM.

Don't forget to attend the Yale Street Market on June 4th. It's always on the first Saturday of the month and takes place in the Historical Heights. It's a market created for local artists to display and sell original works of art. The market offers a vibrant atmosphere to enjoy arts crafts and live music. It's just good, clean fun. Also on Saturday, June 4th, you can "party like a rock star" with the Planned Parenthood Young Leaders at M Bar, 402 Main St. Whether it's rock star glam or grunge, you should attend this bash in costume and party for a great cause, Planned Parenthood. Come play and party from 7:00 -11:00 with us. I can say "us" because I joined PPYL on their web site, www.pphouston.org.

It's time for a little "Queen's lovefest" for the Social, so let me tell you about a few events coming up there. Fusion Friday 'Turntables on the Bayou' is on Friday June 3rd. It's presented by Generasian Radio with DJ Yogi G. (he was a guest at my birthday party!) There is no cover, 21 and up and the Social is at 3730 Washington Avenue. There will be free mix CDs and giveaways. The Mahabeatz are back for the summer at a new location, the Social, home of the best patio in Houston. For information visit www.thesocialinfo.com or www.generasianradio.com. May 29th is an episode of Turntables on the Hudson at the Social. Doors open at 7:00PM and there's a $10 cover. DJ Champa Moore who I've never met, but truly admire, will be there. See more at www.turntablesonthehudson.com. The Queen is "ga-ga" over the Social and the Sundown Sunday is always my favorite time of the month. I love that place. Berry Hill Tamales on Joia and Escobar are also great spots to hit on a Sunday.

Eight Friends Out is a dinner club exclusively for single professionals in Houston. There is always an equal numbers of guys and girls. Their events feature food and fascinating conversation, with great people. For more details, you can call 281-870-0827 or log on to www.eightfriendsout.com.

NEWS IN THE BIZ: C&C Music Factory will be performing live at M Bar on Sunday May 29th. See www.monmain.com for all the various promotional nights offered. M Bar is busy, busy, BUSY Wednesday - Saturday nights. Last time I saw C&C at M Bar, they were incredible, so I'm sure this will be a crowd pleaser again. Find foxy bartender, Denver Huffmeister, at Mantra on the weekends. Pub Fiction is open and the place is bad-ass! Visit them at 2303 Smith Street and say hello to huggable Head of Security, Mike Gillum (formerly at Red Star and Slainte.) Charlee Keller is a waitress there and her service is so outstanding that I plan to request her every time I go there. Pub Fiction's official grand opening party is tomorrow, May 27th. This month's RENT party is on Saturday, May 28th at the Meridian, 1503 Chartres. Something new to do? Check out www.countryplayhouse.org Save the date June 24th for the 8th annual Soiree at the Hilton Post Oak. I'll give you all the juicy details in the June 8th issue of this newsletter.

Big Head Productions is presenting "In the Zone," the second annual pro players for youth charity affair benefiting the Plex Foundation on Saturday, June 4th at Opus. Here's the facts: doors open at 9:00, the event is 21 and up only and dress code will be strictly enforced, so come out and join an elite group of Houstonians along with guest athletes and celebrities in the sexy and classy atmosphere of Opus. HPNOTIQ will also be in the house with giveaways throughout the night. This affair provides an opportunity for the community to support sports and educational programs for inner-city youth. This event was a huge success last year and it's proceeds have been vital keeping Plex Foundation activities flourishing. To learn more go to www.plexfoundation.org.

Come see me in my new
natural habitat, 6° Lounge!
