NEWS IN THE BIZ: For those of you who saw me fall on the dance floor at Ultra at the party after the City of Spin event, I want you to know I slipped on a wet spot on the floor and was NOT wastedwell, maybe a little, but there WAS a puddle I slipped on. Thanks to DJ Alex C. for picking me up so I could get back to dancing. And thanks to Charles Solomon for laughing with me not at me. Congrats to Houston Press and www.vinylpimp.com for a successful event. Star Wars Nerd Kristen Dimond is bartending at Drink Houston. Brian Pfeiffenberger (Feiff) is now at Sullivan's Steakhouse, working with my friend the beautiful Allison Harrell. I have a request for candidates for a General Manager position and a Marketing Coordinator. Please send me your resume and I will forward it to those club owners. Remember, I have a job and resume bank so if you need a job or employers, you need workers, contact me and I'll let you know what's available. Check out www.icon-magazine.com. Get to know them and be at 6° Lounge on July 15th for their mixer. I finally met legendary DJ Andy "Champa" Moore at 6°. He is awesome. Check him out at www.loveisinthemusic.com and see the article he wrote in the June issue of Envy Magazine.

THIS WEEK AT 6°: I'm settled into my new full-time gig at the lounge and am lovin' every minute of it. This new feature will be in every edition. I'll keep you posted on events coming up so you can attend. Take a minute to visit www.sixdl.com to add your information to our VIP list for updates at the bar and invitations to all of our parties. Also, the "this month at 6° page on our site is updated at the beginning of every month so keep an eye on that. Our next big party is June 15th and is called "MAYHEM: 6° of Celebration." This party is sure to be our biggest, to date. We have 6 reasons to celebrate; our new web site, our staff, our new additions to the martini menu, our current award-winning martini (Julian's Banana Splitini,) Summer's arrival and YOU! That's right, MAYHEM is mainly a celebration of how much we APPRECIATE our guests. To show you our appreciation, there will be a hosted bar from 7:00-9:00PM. If you know what 'hosted bar' means, I'm sure you'll be at 6° by 6:59PM! Julian will create a Mayhem-tini too and it will be served at a special price until closing. We will also formally unveil our other new specialty martinis, including the Chang-tini, the MERGE-tini and the happi-tini.

Be here on the 15th! My next assignment for Julian is to create a Queen-tini. You should have received an invitation via email for MAYHEM. The 7-9 part of the event is invitation-only, so print it and bring it. Media Mania at 6° Lounge on June 9th was a huge success. Thank you to my co-host, Gina Rotolo and to our sponsors. Mark your calendars for the next Media Mania on September 8th. Got a birthday in July, contact me to book your party at 6°, kim@sixdl.com.

Dinner and a movie is a great alternative when you don't feel like a night out on the town. If you need to put a little fire back into your romance, why not cook your mate's favorite meal, serve it with a nice bottle of wine, eat by candlelight and then snuggle up with each other and watch a romantic flick. There are thousands of titles to choose from at Blockbuster, but here are a few I recommend, Two Moon Junction (very steamy,) 50 First Dates, the Notebook (have a Kleenex in hand), Princess Bride (my favorite,) Ghost, Sweet November, Sweet Home Alabama, Dirty Dancing (famous Patrick Swayze quote "nobody puts Baby in the corner") and Just Married. Sometimes a quiet night for two at homes beats a night out on the town, and it rekindles the flames in your relationship, not to mention it's easier on your wallet.

The Young Friends will be hosting a Happy Hour and Membership Drive at Slainte Irish Pub (509 Main Street) on Thursday, June 16th from 6:00 to 8:00PM. This Sunday is Father's Day, and I want to send out well-wishes to the BEST daddy in the Universe, Dr. Woody Coyne. I love you, Dad! See you on Sunday. Also, ladies, a quick plug for my dad...HE'S SINGLE! He also happens to be the world's best veterinarian, so if you need a good pet doc, his practice is at 8128 Antoine Drive, 281-847-2343. Happy Father's Day to all the other "baby's daddies" out there, as well.
