Icon Magazine has made quite the name for itself in the past year. After launching the online trade magazine in January of 2004, Icon has established relationships with several online entities including www.CDBaby.com, TicketMaster, and www.Onlinegigs.com. Plain and simple, the Queen is crazy about www.icon-magazine.com. "The recent partnership with www.Onlinegigs.com is exciting," says Icon's Marketing Director Kat Rittinghouse. "Icon has watched the progress with www.Onlinegigs.com for some time now and we truly feel that working with them will benefit our members and artists. Icon wants to bring people together in the music community and our strident efforts to do so have allowed us an opportunity to meet and work with some amazing people and we will continue to build relationships and explore opportunities." That, Kat, she's so dang smart! Gotta love her! I recently jumped onboard with Icon to host monthly Happy Hour events. You know me, always finding a reason to have a party. These happy hour events are the first step to offer another outlet for all forms of media entities from film, television, radio, and online publications to network and join forces with media professionals. Anyone interested in co-hosting an event with Icon, performing, or becoming a member of our online trade magazine can contact Kat Rittinghouse at krittinghouse@icon-magazine.com. If you are a bar or nightclub and want to host an Icon event, you may contact either Kat or myself.

www.SuperFastFlyers.com provides customers with super-fast turnarounds, but they are also providing the best prices, and free ground shipping. With the recent arrival of their new high-end printing press, www.SuperFastFlyers.com is changing the printing industry as we know it. Never before has any company been able to offer SAME DAY turn around, or smaller quantities, such as 1000 full color, front and back postcards for $99.00. Clearly this "super-fast" growing company is one to watch for, especially with their easy to use technology, and secure online ordering system. Their custom-built web application follows a three step process where customers can easily select their product, choose shipping and payment options, and upload files online. This web application is one of the components that streamline SuperFastFlyers.com's operations, which is how the savings get passed on to the customer. In addition to their job performance, www.SuperFastFlyers.com has excellent variety, offering everything from brochures, postcards, and business cards to door hangers, CD inserts, and flyers. Contact Crystal Lee 713-797-1696 or crystal@superfastflyers.com. Use promotional code 7638.

REMINDERS: The voting starts today for the Houston Chronicle Ultimate of Houston Awards, click to http://www.chron.com/content/chronicle/special/05/ultimate/ and vote your tails off. Vote for 6° Lounge! Speaking of cool TV shows, did you know the Charles Snider Show airs in a few other cities in New England, and California, and some of their guests are from out of town? The Charles Snider Show highlights entertainers, diplomats, NY Times best-selling authors etc. Check out their website www.charlessnidershow.com. These are the nicest guys on, and OFF camera! You know my motto, life's too short to have to deal with ugly men and this group meets my high standards on the "cute scale."

The winners of the Houston Press and www.vinylpimp.com City of Spin DJ competition were Hip Hop: Baby Jae, Lounge/Acid Jazz: DJ Sun (excellent, but I also like Soul Tower 606 at 6° Lounge,) Electroclash/80's House: Little Martin (find him at the monthly RENT party at the Meridian,) Progressive House: JD Arnold and House: Sean Carnahan. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. All of the winners will be placed on the Houston Press Music Awards Best DJ Ballot along with DJ Champa Moore (Winner of the Ultra DJ Spinoff WMC Contest) and one will be chosen as THE best DJ in Houston. All the winning DJs will be performing at the Houston Press Music Awards Showcase on Sunday July 24th. The Music Awards are a monumental event in our city and they get bigger and better every year.

Urban Provision Company (UPC) is a Specialty Foods Company devoted to the creation of delicious and distinctive food items. Demetria Dixon is the creative force behind Urban Provision Company and I met her at the recent Media Mania event at 6:. Her influences include Latin, Asian, African and Caribbean, along with what she terms "the Divine." Divine influence alludes to her seeming instinctual ability to combine diverse ingredients in unique flavorful combinations that delight your taste buds. UPC offerings include creamy luxurious Cheesecakes in a variety of flavors like Chocolate Martini or Caramel Mochacino along with Spicy Preserves in inventive flavor combinations like Spicy Red Onion and Kiwi Habanero and decadent Chocolate and Caramel Sauces. The latest additions to the UPC repertoire are Specialty Spicy Candies. The candy comes in two varieties: Spicy Pepper Caramels and Spicy Caramel Filled Chocolates. With an imprint that juxtaposes diverse ingredients to produce exciting textures and satisfying flavors, UPC creates foods that promise to make the experience of eating a memorable one. To place an order or for more information, please email at upcorder@sbcglobal.net or call at 713-204-3484. Tell them the Queen referred you.
