Although the disaster is no cause for celebration, by any means, 6° hopes to ease the sorrow with a relief party this Thursday September 1st. 10% of the night's proceeds will go directly to the RED CROSS to be used toward the Hurricane Relief Fund. Doors open at 5PM for a 6-hour happy hour until 11PM. Anyone who shows their ID from Alabama, Louisiana or Mississippi enjoys their first cocktail on the house. At 9PM, we are hosting a pre-launch CD release party with the soon-to-be-famous CD from Brandon Silva featuring C-Mo from Zimms Lounge. Everyone needs to rush into 6° this Thursday to check out the event and to get their free mix CD by Brandon Silva! Stay tuned for the official launch party, coming up on September 22nd. If you cannot join us Thursday, we urge you to please help the victims by dropping food, clothing, blankets, gift cards or donations to the nearest shelter here in Houston or donate funds to the RED CROSS. Call 1-800-HELP NOW or visit www.redcross.org.

The next spectacular 6° event is REMEDY on Wednesday, September 7th at "6° Cocktail Clinic" located at 911 Franklin (between Main and Travis.) It will be hosted by Nurse Marissa, Nurse Nell, Resident Doctor of Mixology, Julian, the Chief of Staff, Doc Murphy, and the sexy interns. Feeling funky? Show off your funkiness and wear your favorite scrubs, medical attire or sexy nurse costume. Erotic Cabaret will offer a 10% discount to anyone buying a medical-related costume for this event. The password is 6° REMEDY party, offer good at both locations 1222 & 6509 Westheimer. The FUN is contagious! This party will be dispensing 6° of celebration:

  1. Our very own Julian Ritchey was nominated for BEST bartender in the Chronicle's Ultimate of Houston Awards (results will be published September 19th)
  2. We were also nominated for BEST happy hour and for BEST place to see & be seen.
  3. Sample concoctions from our new Fall Martini Menu including the winners of our recent Martini Mix-off, Celise Keller's Jenna Jameson X-rated tini, Tony Hall's Mint Chocolate Art-tini and Collin White's 8" Banana Martini!
  4. We are nominated for some BEST OF awards on www.citysearch.com (and hopefully we will win!)
  5. Launch party for the new Fall Martini Menu.
  6. Open wide and say "ah" and be treated to GUEST APPRECIATION with a hosted bar from 7 - 9PM. It's just what the doctor ordered!

Be at 6° Lounge on Thursdays for SHIFT. Enough said! Brandon Silva in at 9, guest DJs as well as Brandon. If you aren't here, you are missing OUT! 911 Franklin (if you don't already know the address, you must be NEW in town!)

Save the date! Do you realize that September 30th marks the first anniversary of this newsletter? That's the TRUE proof that time flies when you're having fun! Hmmmm, and how do you suggest we celebrate my first year? Well, with a RIGHTEOUS party, of course! There's no secret where it will be, I'll give you a multiple choice, at one of my favorite place on the planet. Is it A) the mall, B) Spec's C) at the dog park with Marlee D) 6° Lounge? Well, if there was an E) all of the above, E) would be the correct answer, however there was no E), so the winner would be D) 6° Lounge (911 Franklin.) Are you totally confused with all the letters? Anyway, back to methis is how we will celebrate, so mark your calendars! I am hosting a WIG PARTY @ 6° Lounge. I mean wigs, as in worn on your head, so start shopping for wigs. Here's how it will go down: wear a wig and a smile and attend my anniversary party at 911 Franklin on September 30th. Don't go out the night before, because you need your rest to attend the festivities. We are starting early, at 7PM. Here's the rules: number one, wear a wig, number two, bring every mo-fo (the COOL ones, not your dorky friends) that you know to 6°, and between 7-9 we will enjoy happy hour prices. HAPPY HOUR PRICES DOWNTOWN ON A SATURDAY?! That's unheard of! If the Queen wants it, the Queen GETS it. That's not all, we will have a QOC (Queen of Clubs, figure it out) trivia sheet upon entry. All 100% correct sheets turned in for the drawing will be thrown in a champagne bucket and we will draw from those smart folks for UNBELIEVABLE prizes including cash, drink tabs, dinner for two, gift certificates and a date with Gary Murphy and other great stuff! It seems that everybody is doing the best of 2005, so why should I be any different? You have a month to send me your ideas for the areas or people I should recognize. Anything from A-Z is fair game so send me your ideas and winners will be announced at the WIG PARTY on September 30th.

I didn't see any wigs when I visited this store, but on the topic of fashion, I found an amazingly incredible boutique called Boca Hill Clothing Company located on the corner of Hillcroft and Westheimer, behind Kim Son Restaurant. You can see their great duds online too at http://www.bocahill.com/General/index.html. Olga was the sales-diva who helped me buy a purse, but I'll be going back more to shop. They have great shoes and accessories too at reasonable prices. Buy something for me while you're there.

Okay, gang, this is hilarious! There is a new device that enables women to "stand by their man," so to speak. The "Sweet Pee" was created so women can stand and have no caboose-to-seat contact, so it's great for camping or at public events with unsanitary port-a-potties. It's a flexible plastic gizmo that is slightly cupped to create a bridge between you and whatever shameless excuse for a bathroom you stumble upon. You know you're curious, so visit http://www.mysweetpee.com/. Now women don't have to have "pee-ness envy" and we have our own little something we can whip out to compare with men.

NEWS IN THE BIZ: U2 will be at the Toyota Center on October 28th. Nine Inch Nails will be at the Toyota Center on October 19th. The next RENT will be at the Meridian on September 24th. DJ Andy Champa Moore left Houston to move to New York this past Sunday. Let's all surprise him with "we miss you already!" emails so when he gets his computer unpacked and set up in his new digs, he'll feel loved and missed. Send your well-wishes to him at this email addy: champamoore@gmail.com. The next Spoiled Boyz after hours party will be Saturday, September 24th. It will be the Spoiled Boyz 50th Event Celebration, so it's sure to be a whopper. Vote for the BEST OF HOUSTON on www.citysearch.com by clicking www.houston.citysearch.com/bestof/results/102. If you need instruction on how to vote or WHO to vote for, just call me. MEDIA MANIA will take place at 6° Lounge on September 8th and I will co-host this quarterly event with Kelli Robinson of X Factor Designs. All of you will receive an email invitation. Coming soon: Eden After Hours. Visit www.edenafterhours.com, sign up and hope you're selected to receive an invitation to the grand opening party. Also stop by www.moonflydj.com, it is a SUPER COOL site! I was really impressed.

I have some special news of my own. As everyone knows, I have to be doing several jobs at once (it keeps me out of trouble,) so I've taken a part-time job in addition to my full-time haven at 6° Lounge, and I am now a proud member of the team at R&R Transportation Services. Visit http://www.randrpartnershipinc.com/ to see more about the company and the services we offer. I will come on board as their Marketing Director (like I even know how to do anything OTHER than that, right?) this week. If you need a limo or party bus, let me know, because R&R offers those services, as well as lot maintenance and valet parking. R&R is an established and customer focused transportation services company with over 35 years of combined management experience. R&R has been in business in the Houston for more than ten years and we understand the importance of satisfying our customers. Our success is built around our commitment to our clients and our pursuit for 100% customer satisfaction. Call 713-977-0088 if you need a limo or party bus and tell them you heard about R&R from the Queen of Clubs.

See you at REMEDY
September 7th!
