BIG NEWS: If you like 6°, well you get to like it until May 20th, because it has been sold. It will reopen in June under new ownership and I will keep you posted on details. All good things must come to an end and the end is near. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce this news. Don't fret, because we have 17 days to enjoy the sixer and relive all the memories and create a few more in the process. We will host my 50th edition party (I know, I know! I said it was going to be on April 29th, but I got busy and decided to push it back closer to the closing so we could go out with a BANG!) It will be on Wednesday, May 10th with DJ 606 (ask to see his tattoo!) and Nell-licious the STAR-tender and of course, your favorite chatter-box with big boobs (guess who!) Stay tuned for the invite that will get blasted out to the QOC list. That brings me to another topic (A.D.D. gotta love it!) if any of you want to receive my newsletter, but not my event invitations, say the word. We will have TWO lists now. Apparently there are some non-barflies who love my newsletter, but don't go out and hate my invites. I totally understand.

A few of us are hosting a Martinis and Makeovers party next Tuesday at 6° Lounge at 8:30. Join us for a relaxing, rejuvenating and rewarding night of getting pampered at 6° Lounge. This is a special night, because it is one of the last events 6° will host before we close after May 20th, so come enjoy yourselves, sip on cocktails and create some good memories of 6° Lounge with all of your friends. Invite your co-workers, your neighbors, your boyfriend's ex-girlfriend, (okay, maybe not HER!) It's right before Mother's Day too, so why not invite your mom for a girls' night out? Katie McCreight of Beauti-Control will be on-hand to give us makeovers and Gary will generously let us enjoy happy hour prices all evening for our party! There will be a give-away of a Microderm Abrasion Treatment and demonstrations while we all "get pretty!" Come join the fun! Here is the link to the evite so you can RSVP:

Even if your mom is not a MILF, she is still special, just for giving birth to you. Don't forget Mother's Day this year is on May 14th. To see a great list of ideas for places to take mom to eat and make sure she knows she is appreciated, visit the renown food critic, Cleverley Stone's annual list by clicking http://www.mothersday-restaurants.com/.

The "Sunday Sckool" weekly Sunday promotion at HUE (202 Tuam) has been such a huge success. The party was every Sunday 6-10PM, but effective Sunday, April 30th the Sunday series at HUE will be in recess. The promoter needed a weekend vacation. Second, so many of you had mentioned that "awful" scent in the air on Sundays. HUE would like for you to know that they have been working with the City and a new plumbing service to correct the problem. HUE believes the issue has been properly diagnosed and are scheduling repair and a hopeful final resolution to the "odor". Whew! Just in time for "Summer Sckool."

Junkie XL and Sean Carnahan will perform Friday, May 12th at the Meridian (1503 Chartres) from 10PM until 3AM. This is an 18 and up show. For those of you who remember his smashing set at the Paul Oakenfold event last year, then get ready for another evening of pure excitement with Houston's hottest nightlife peeps along with yet another of the world's absolute best talent, Junkie XL, as he returns to rock the house. Speaking of Sean, do you know that I have known him for about 13 years and recently he came into St. Pete's Dancing Marlin for lunch, so I saw him in the daylight and he is STILL a cutie-pie? Now you know. A very TAKEN cutie-pie and a proud daddy of two adorable kids. Go to his events. Life is too short to go to events by ugly promoters.

On three Thursdays in a row, May 16th, 23th and 30th, there's no better way to stretch your legs and firm up your backend than getting out that pair of skates that have been gathering dust and getting outdoors to practice turning, stopping, coasting and various speeds and strides in a class that is excellent for beginners to intermediate skaters. The group meets in Memorial Park, where you need to look for the yellow Bayou City Outdoors banner, at 7:00PM and it will end by 8:30PM. This is a series of three classes that are free for BCO members and only $25 for all others. Join BCO today and get your second month FREE, use CODE: HUE06. For details or to RSVP go to www.BayouCityOutdoors.com or call 713-524-3567.

Speaking of ENVY, join us at 6° Lounge for the May IRP (Issue Release Party) for the mag. This event will feature something never before presented at an IRP, but I'm not leaking the surprise! Oh f-it, here goes: the parking lot across from 6DL, at the Mosque (Islamic Da'wai Center, or IDC for your rappers) will be a DJ showcase for the entire party featuring 20, yes TWENTY DJ's! I have goose-bumps just thinking about it! ENVY magazine is available the first Thursday of each month. Did you know they are expanding to Dallas? If anyone or anything can make Dallas cool, it's ENVY!

My foxy friend, Michael Coppens of the Society for Performing Arts, who is a geo-centric Monopoly nerd told me you can go to www.monopoly.com and cast your vote for one of Houston's landmarks. Surely there are a few Monopoly fans out there besides Michael. Basically, America is voting on their choice of three landmarks that represent 22 cities across the country. Here's the fun part, the city with the most votes overall will get the coveted Boardwalk square on the board. Let's represent, Houston! Voting ends May 12th.

MYSPACE PROFILE OF THE WEEK: Fluff the Kat is battling it out to win the right to play Chances stage for Pride 2006. The band needs your votes. They only lost by 31 votes last year and with your help Fluff the Kat can make it this time. If you think the band is rowdy on Thursdays, just see what they do when they pull out ALL the stops. There will be a $5 cover that night, but they promise to make it worth your while with a great show and a few surprises. See more of the band at www.myspace.com/fluffthekat. Is there a cool myspace profile you'd like me to feature? Send me your suggestions. I feature a new profile every week. I know some of you are saying "PRIDE 2006? I'm not gay!" We live in Houston, which has a huge gay population and if you don't appreciate diversity, go to the next paragraph. Anyway, show your pride OR your heterosexuality by voting for FLUFF THE KAT! Obey me. Go vote now, I'll wait.

Now, on to NEWS IN THE BIZ: Every Thursday in May, there is a Bikini Contest at Midnight Rodeo in Katy Mills Mall. Thursdays also feature $.50 wells and Absolut drinks and $1.25 Longnecks. For details, call 281-644-2582 or visit www.midnightrodeokaty.com. I love, live for Crave Parties! See www.craveparthouston.com. The next event is their Urban Bus Adventure on May 13th. Who is going?! It would make for a fun outing with your mom, since it's the day before Mother's Day! Where you see the light is where you'll find the party at the "Red Light District," a new promo each and every Thursday at Bond (2700 Milam) call 713-529-2663 or click www.bond2700.com.
