This Saturday,
on June 24th, Spoiled Boyz once again produces one of its infamous
after-hours events. Prepare
to 'walk the
red carpet' at the Houston premiere of SHOUT! The party takes
place late night Saturday, June 24th at NEXT, located at 2020
McKinney at Chartres. The event will feature the musical sounds
of Miami's and STAR 69 Records Producer/Remix Artist/DJ ANGELO
KORTEZ and a host of exciting visuals and lighting displays intended
to play-up the "Movie Premiere" themed event, including
a walk on the red carpet. Advance tickets are encouraged and
available at M2M Fashion located at 3400 Montrose. Doors will
open at 3:30AM Sunday morning. Event info can be obtained at
www.spoiledboyz.net.
Houston will be celebrating Gay Pride all weekend long starting
on June 23rd. Stop by RUSH (at Bond, 2700 Milam) on Sunday, June
25th, to continue the Pride festivities with the best dance music,
friends and more. Join the masses for one of summer's hottest
events, the Houston Pride Festival. The 2006 Festival promises
to be bigger and better than ever, with more food, more entertainment,
more activities and more for-profit and non-profit exhibitors
than in any previous year. Mark your calendars for Saturday,
June 24th, 28PM, and celebrate your Pride at Commonwealth and
Westheimer and also see performances by Taylor Dayne and Casey
Stratton among many others, including skyblue72. There are several
parties and activities you might want to attend, whether you
are gay, straight, or somewhere in between, a good time is sure
to be had by all, so visit www.pridehouston.org for what's in-store
this weekend!
Also this
weekend is one of my most favorite events of the year. CITY
OF SPIN will take place over three nights, June 23rd, 24th,
25th. Thirteen different DJ's will be featured and it will be
held at three different venues. Here's the lowdown: Friday, June
23rd will take place at Hue (202 Tuam.) Here's the line-up: 10:00PM
- DJ Bizz, 10:40PM - Johnny J, 11:20PM - DJ Boombai and 12AM-2AM
- DJ Vice. Maybe skip the after-hours club on Friday to rest-up
because on Saturday, the party continues at The G.R.A.B (did
you know that stands for Game Room And Bar?) The G.R.A.B. itinerary
reads like this: 10:00PM - Brotha Jabril 10:40PM - Ceeplus, 11:20PM
- DJ Sun and 12AM-2AM - DJ Champa Moore. On Sunday, June 25th
you can catch the following line-up at 702 (702 Dallas): 9:20PM
- Amanda Robinson, 10:00PM - Little Martin (smooches to Martin
from the Queen,) 10:40PM - DJ Red (he is better than DJ AM!)
and 11:20PM - Sean Carnahan (long time fave guy of mine) and
12AM-2AM - DJ Donald Glaude. I have heard him on myspace but
not in person yet. I have certainly heard OF him! Check him out

up in the rave scene listening to DJ's like Bad Boy Bill and
Humptyvision. After hearing all the great inspirational DJ's
like Paul Oakenfold and Armin Van Buuren, he decided to learn
the art of the turntable and now he spins all the best in Hard
House and Progressive House. Meet him at Milan and online at

Saturday, June 24th is the Farmers Market Bike Tour. There are
several Farmer Markets right here in the middle of the city,
which bring in local organic produce every Saturday. Bring your
backpack to carry what you purchase, and shop the markets on
your bikes. The group will meet for coffee at Onion Creek 3106
White Oak Drive (713-880-0706) and then take an easy tour of
3-5 markets around the city. They use side streets, trails and
residential roads for this 6-9 mile ride. Not only will you learn
about the markets and get some exercise, you'll see beautiful
areas you never knew existed in Houston and take home a bounty
of beautiful produce, breads, sauces and jams. Plan to meet at
8:00AM, leave at 8:30 and arrive back by 11. Look for the yellow
Bayou City Outdoors table sign and remember to bring sunscreen

DOWNTOWN
H-TOWN: Coming soon to Main Street is THE OFFICE, see
more at www.myspace.com/theofficehouston. Lauren Wilde is now
playing at the Venue at 719 Main (see www.venuehouston.com.)
The Venue is near the Vault and Mantra. Learn about Lauren at
www.myspace.com/listentolauren. Dimassi's Mediterrean Cafi is
coming to Travis and Franklin soon. Hiccups Bar and Grill at
306 Main is slated to open their doors in about two weeks. I
can't possibly mention downtown without saying how much I love
Milan at 809 Congress. Kisses to Kyle, Anthony and Aaron. The
art on the walls at Milan is spectacular, by the way. I was lucky
enough to get to hand-pick the artists for Milan and I did a
kick ass job (I'm so humble.) Rent is at the Meridian this Saturday.
That party gets better and better each month, I tell you! Little
Martin and Johnathan struck gold with their monthly editions
of Rent. Thanks so much for Rent, you two.
The 4th of July will feature Los Lonely Boys at Chevy's Freedom
over Texas Event from 4-10PM. Did you know Houston's Firework

the attractions. This will all take place at Eleanor Tinsley
Park and details are provided at www.chevysfreedomovertexas.com or www.houstonspecialevents.org. I'll have MUCH more information
about the 4th in next week's edition of Queen of Clubs. I'll
see all of you at the City of Spin events.
