Do you realize this month marks the second anniversary of the Queen of Clubs newsletter? Time sure does fly when you are writing about having fun. If you haven't noticed by now, the newsletter frequency will no longer be once a week. I have gotten a little busier now with my jobs and the newsletter was getting harder for me to crank out in a timely manner, so it will now go out on the 5th and 20th of each month. In the meantime, you can come see me Monday-Friday at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin (300 Main,) during the day. My new managerial schedule there is 9AM-5PM and I have finally made the adjustment from my nightlife schedule that was more like 9PM-5AM. I cannot honestly say I am not a morning person yet - Praise the Lord for Diet Rock Star and Low-Carb Monster Energy Drinks - but I am getting used to it. I still wait tables once in awhile there either on Tuesday night or on Saturday, during the day. I am also at St. Pete's between 9:30PM and 11:30PM on Saturday nights. I come by to see and hear the bands we have there. If you are, or know of, a local band looking for gigs, contact me at 713-227-1511 after 2PM during the week. I am always looking for bands to play there on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are out and about on a Thursday, come see our house band, Kosmic Latte. They are excellent and so is the weekly crowd they bring in. Brianna and Joe will take wonderful care of quenching your thirst at the bar. Be sure to add St. Pete's Dancing Marlin (SPDM) to your friends list on MySpace at www.myspace.com/spdm.

I still have my three part-time jobs, and as of November, I will have been at St. Pete's and the Flat for a year at each place. The Flat (1701 Commonwealth) is still going strong with their SIDEWAYS TUESDAYS hosted by DJ Pooks and Tego, each Tuesday features a different guest DJ to join them and September's line-up includes DJ Dasoul on 9/12, Christopher Huffer and Joe Daugherty on 9/19 and DJ Melodic on 9/26. For more info on happenings at the Flat, visit www.barflar.com and www.myspace.com/barflat. Don't forget to add us as a friend on MySpace to get invited to events at the Flat. I am now taking happy hour, bachelor/bachelorette, birthday and holiday party reservations for the Flat, so feel free to email me at houston_queen_of_clubs@yahoo.com for inquiries about bookings. Let's not forget the world's best (and most patient and tolerating) roommate slings drinks at the Flat on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Chris Lawless, so go visit him and tip him FAT. Chris got and instant zoo in February when I moved in with my four pets, but our 15-year friendship has survived.

This month I celebrate another anniversary, not just the 2-year mark for QOC but the one-year mark at R&R Partnership. Even though I'm rarely at the corporate office anymore, I still coordinate new business development for R&R. We offer valet parking services and limo, shuttle, sedan and party bus transportation services. Currently R&R is running a limo special at a discounted weekend rate. Call Carla at 713-977-0088 for details and ask her for the Queen of Clubs discount. Add R&R as a MySpace friend at www.myspace.com/randrhouston and visit us at www.randrpartnershipinc.com. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have about our services and look for our new SINsual packages in which Service Industry peeps can enjoy an enormous discount on our vehicles on Sundays and Mondays. It's not too early to book your New Year's Eve transpo, as we fill up fast, so get to it!

Then there is the newbie to my list of jobs, I joined them in July; The Cotton Exchange (202 Travis.) I'm promoting their Wednesdays, and of course, booking parties and happy hours. Interested? Reach me on my cell at 832-885-7274. The remaining DJ line-up for SINsational Wednesdays at the Cotton Exchange is 9/6 Brandon Silva, 9/13 Soul Tower 606, 9/20 Little Martin, 9/27 DJ Nesto and the Martini Mix-off #7 is that night as well and 10/4 is DJ C Mo. From our seven weeks of DJs we will decide on who we will ask to be the resident DJ for SINsational Wednesdays. Cotton is also a terrific hot spot for Monday Night Football, Monday Loft Resident parties and my Wednesday Project Runway viewing parties. On Fridays, tickle your taste buds with a catered happy hour buffet from Savoy. We offer happy hour 5 days a week and are open 7 days a week. Visit us at www.cottonexchangelounge.com and add us at www.myspace.com/cottonexchangelounge. You may always reach the charming and effervescent, Dawn Malone to book events there too. Dawn is a full-time "Cottonette" and can be reached at 713-229-0097.

Single and ready to mingle? Premiering in Houston in October is a great Singles mixer called LOCK & KEY EVENTS. I know where the first one will take place but I'm keeping it under wraps until the date draws near. It is on October 28th, so mark it on your calendar. This will be a brand new kind of singles mixer for Houston so make plans to attend and possibly win some prizes and meet your mate.

Do you feel like you should be so much farther along in your career at this point in your life? If you don't like who you are and where you are, don't worry because you're not stuck with who you are OR where you are. You can grow, you can change, you can be more than you currently are. The Pulse, a new magazine, is looking for select people for outside sales in fast-growing advertising market. The Pulse pays the highest commissions in the competitive area and they offer a monthly bonus for meeting quotas. They are seeking candidates with the right personal demographics and established sales leads who also have two or more years of experience. You must be a self-starter and possess the confidence to lead others. If you do your job and meet your quota every month, you will be promoted at every review. Send resume to ThePulseNews@aol.com and include your references.

I have the inside scoop on the new traffic stop light cameras that begun on September 1st. Here are the locations of the new cameras that will automatically issue a $75 ticket if you are caught running yellow or red lights. So it may be a good idea to slow down. The cameras will capture a picture of you, and the front seat passenger and it will be a very clear picture. They will issue a warrant for your arrest if you fail to appear in court. This is not a civil penalty but an actual traffic citation, Class C Misdemeanor, and will affect your driving record. The first 10 camera locations are: Richmond at Dunvale, Bellaire at Wilcrest, Harwin at Hillcroft, Milam at Elgin, Brazos at Elgin, JFK at Greens, Bay Area Boulevard at El Camino Real, Travis at Webster, Pease at LaBranch and Hillcroft at Richmond.

I got a myspace message from Jess of Texas Blazing Pianos and he informed me they are at the 702 Patio Bar (702 Dallas) every Wednesday. If you've seen dueling pianos before, then you know how much fun it can be. If you've not had the chance to see one of Texas Blazing Pianos' shows, then I'm certain they would love for you to come out to see them. TBP usually plays from 7ish to 11ish (that whole "clock" thing still confuses musicians), and it's an all request show, ranging from the Eagles to the Beatles, from Rascall Flatts to Elvis, from Maroon 5 to Tenacious D and so on. Be sure to check out their calendar for other dates and venues on their MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/texasblazingpianos.

NEWS IN THE BIZ: If there are any bartenders out there who are looking to pick up extra shifts, then give the Office Bar and Lounge's manager a call. Her name is Jheri Bashen and you may reach her at 832-407-4266. DJ Thumpa has left the Ruby Room to be the resident weekend DJ at the Office, so you may find him there every weekend. Did you hear about the bartender who got a $10,000 tip on a $26 tab? Amazing, isn't it? All of us who are or have been servers are envious. You may see the article at this link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060831/ap_on_fe_st/ten_grand_tip. Julian Ritchey can be found bartending with Tammie Busby on Wednesdays at the Cotton Exchange for SINsational Wednesdays with $100 bottles. El Centro (416 Main) has DJ's every Friday and Saturday from 8PM-12AM. Did you know by saying "the Queen of Clubs sent me," you will score FREE nachos at El Centro? How rad is that? Be sure to introduce yourself to their new manager Ron Rodgers. The main man to reach for events at both M Bar and El Centro is my love bucket, David Moore. His email is david@martinproductions.com. Tell him to add you to their database to receive invitations and announcements.
