If ever there was a reason to go to Baytown, this event is it. My favorite P.R. Diva, Gina Rotolo tells me that the Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals event featuring the nation's top diesel competitors will be held Saturday, October 14th and Sunday, October 15th at Houston Raceway Park. Fans of all ages are invited to witness drag racing with the fastest diesels in the nation. There will be sled-pulling, burnout contests, show and shine truck displays and more. In addition to the weekend's exciting races, the inaugural Barn Bash party will take place on Saturday evening and feature a concert by Trent Willmon as well as a "Country Butts" competition for men and women where judges will be in search of Texas' best looking buns. Too bad it's best and not biggest buns. I'd be a shoe-in for first place. The Bully Dog Texas Diesel Nationals is presented by Diesel Hot Rod Association (DHRA), the official sanctioning body for U.S. diesel sports. Tickets are $30 for a weekend pass and kids under 16 are admitted free with parent. Tickets are available online at www.DHRAonline.com. Do a little something different on a weekend night or even on TWO weekend nights. Houston Raceway Park is located at 2525 FM 565 in Baytown. For a change, why not leave H-town for a night of drag racing in B-town?

Promoter, producer, pal, DJ and proud daddy of two, Sean Carnahan, is my hero for bringing DJ Kaskade to the Cotton Exchange. Thank you, Mister Man (I know you are reading this!) If any of you were there that night, I'm certain you'll agree, it was AMAZING! This month, 77002.com presents a few shows, all of which you can get more details or get tickets for on the site (77002.com if you didn't catch it in the line above) Here's the line up: October 12th is Carl Cox and Mark Lewis at the Meridian (1503 Chartres) and October 20th is ATB at M Bar (402 Main.) BTW (short for "by the way," an acronym my bud, Gary Thomas Murphy, taught me) if you haven't heard me say this before, let me remind all of you how much the Queen loves M Bar! Oh, I mustn't forget to mention that 77002.com is presenting Benny Benassi at Venue on November 10th and Deep Dish on November 17th. Sean CarnahANIMAL is "da man!"

COTTON EXCHANGE LOWDOWN: It's real simple: FRIDAYS F-IN' ROCK at the Cotton Exchange Lounge (202 Travis.) Join us on the 13th for another edition of "R and R" (Reed and Robinson, DJs extraordinaire) and on October 20th for "Rotate." On a special Saturday installment, I will certainly be there on October 14th to hear Zany Zaion, Brandon Silva, Josh Dupont, Danny Damnit and James Reed. BTW, the 14th happens to be my favorite wee-man chef (eat more celery, ladies) and my soon-to-be partner in crime for a Thursday night promo somewhere, Brandon Silva's birthday celebration. I must give a shout out to my homie, James Cho, more lovingly referred to as "Dizzle" on myspace, who has become a Friday regular at Cot Ex (NOT "Kotex" as my roomie calls it!) Special love and thanks to photographer, Tyler Swanson (www.clumsylobster.com) who takes the most candid shots of party people doing what is inevitable at Cotton Exchange, HAVING FUN! Tyler recently had his equipment stolen, so please donate funds to replacing it so he can keep the party alive through memorable pictures. See his site for details. He called us "Cotton Gin" in one of his titles on his site. God Bless a good buzz, right Tyler? Oh, and since I'm having a love-fest for Cotton, I might as well tell you the 2006 MARTINI MIX-OFF FINALS are going to be on Wednesday November 1st where one talented bartender will walk out of there a "thousandaire" if their martini is crowned tops for 2006. Finalists on the 1st have all gotten 1st or 2nd place in one of my previous seven Martini Mix-offs. My pet project right now is the 2006 FASHION FACE-OFF where five local fashion designers will throw down against each other to win cash and prizes on November 16th. It will be a grand event, with no "serious ugly." If you are a Project Runway junkie like I am, you know that phrase. At the time I'm writing this I have three designers: Sunnie Ray, Lore and April Ann. I have two slots to fill and I would love to add a men's clothing designer. Reach me at either 832-885-7274 or www.myspace.com/houstonqueenofclubs. I cannot forget our bad-ass Monday Night Football promotion presented by Bombsquad Promotions (in the last newsletter I said productions. I was just kidding. It's "promotions.") Like football? Like Bartendress Tammie's cleavage? Like poker? If so, then 202 Travis is the place to be on Mondays, where we have "liquor in the front and poker in the back!" Slogan compliments of Joey Massey.

Houston is once again playing host to the Bayou City Art Festival on October 14th and 15th, from 10AM to 6PM. The festival will spotlight Houston's downtown architecture in a painting by featured artist Stephen Dickerson of Katy, Texas. This festival will showcase the works of 300 fine artists, as well as a variety of multi-cultural musical and dance entertainment and food and wine refreshments. The festival showcases the urban expanses in front of City Hall and around Hermann Square on Walker, Bagby and McKinney Street as well as Sam Houston Park. The Bayou City Art Fest marks the festival's 10th anniversary in the downtown location. The outdoor festival will feature an interactive Creative Zone for children presented by the Museum of Fine Arts, the "Art on Water" floating art installation, restaurants and wine cafes, the Broadway in Houston's Broadway Cafe, and the performing arts stage. I often make friends with people I do business with, whether it be my guests, clients or vendors. I recently started talking to one of our vendors on a more social level, Mariana from U Name It h2o. I want to tell you, dear readers, about Mike Litton's company that is about 5 years old. I met Mike a few years back at an Interactive Network Connection luncheon and his company has about 90 clients in and around the Houston/Galveston area and several in Dallas and Austin. Mariana is who I deal with at h2o and she is his darling wife. They do private label bottled water for many of the upscale bars and hotels, as well as restaurants (like St. Pete's,) boutiques and many other types of businesses. They even do weddings and parties, and the private label water is really a nice touch for these events. It takes about two weeks turn-around time from the time their company gets your artwork approved. You may put your label on 12, 16.9 and 20 ounce bottles. You'll find U Name It h2o in the limos and party buses for R&R Partnership, EVERYONE'S favorite transportation company. For those of you who are new in town, R&R is citysearch.com's 2006 BEST limo company. That is quite an honor. Look for R&R's full page ad in this month's Barstool Magazine. Barstool is the s**t! When you call U Name It h2o, ask about their spokes model, Ava. She rocks! Call Mariana to order your aqua TODAY at 713-240-6499.

There's a new place that has opened downtown and here's the scoop to check it out. It's called "Four" and it's located at 410 Main Street (the old Jones Bar location.) I have the 411. Here goesphone, 713-228-1444, manager's email, B@clubfourhouston.com, fax number is 832-603-4057, the General Manger is Beatriz Agramonte and FOUR is open Fridays and Saturdays at 10PM. They are doing "Eyes Wide Shut" for Halloween on October 28th and they'll feature Housecat Cabaret that night. Who the hell says downtown is dying when we have so many venues opening? Contact me and I'll arrange no line, no cover at several places downtown if you don't believe me. Ask Lisa Wells if I can do that, she will tell you where I can get your group into like celebrities, just message her at www.myspace.com/houston_girl. She is my golden girl, VIP everywhere! To learn more about this new place, click to www.myspace.com/clubfour.

LIVE MUSIC NEWS: The Lost Boys will be performing at the "Key To The Cure" (shop like a rock star event) at Saks Fifth Ave in the Galleria on Thursday, October 12th. The Lost Boys will be rocking the Toyota Center on Friday October 27th with 106.9 the Point and the Houston Aeros. Here's a couple of national acts rolling into Houston that I think would be worthwhile to see: on Sunday October 22nd, the Verizon Theater welcomes Evanescence. Tickets are $25.00. Also coming to the Verizon a week later, on October 27th is Peter Frampton and that concert will set you back $39.00. Familiar Strangers will be playing on Sunday, October 22nd at 1:00PM at the New Territory Harvest Festival in New Territory (Sugar Land) and on Saturday, November 18th at 9:00Pm at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin. Check them out at www.familiarstrangersband.com and come see them at St. Pete's next month. Sky Blue 72 will be at St. Pete's on October 14th www.myspace.com/skyblue72 and D.R.U.M will be at SPDM on October 27th www.myspace.com/drumtheband. D.R.U.M. stands for Devine Rhythm United Motion.

Hey, guess what? JAM Media and Spirit Halloween Stores are hosting the second annual Pirate Party featuring the world famous 'little people' KISS tribute band known as MINI KISS which will take place in Houston for the first time on Friday, October 13th performing in the parking lot in front of "FEAR 1" located at highway 290 and loop 610 at West 18th Street. You may buy tickets at the door or call John at 713-291-2923 for group tickets. This all goes down on Saturday October 14th from 10Pm until 2AM at the Gatsby in Rice Village (2450 University.)
