Greetings
all you Ghouls and Goblins...or should I say Gobblers? Okay,
now I know that I'm late for the Halloween-speak, but I
certainly hope this newsletter finds you in the best of spirits
and completely recouperated from all of your Halloween festivities.
I would have much preferred to get this out to you in time to
tell you about all the holiday events that took place, but that
obviously did not happen. Talk on the street is the best parties
were RENT and the 10th Annual Club Monkey Pimp and Prostitute
Ball. To see more of Club Monkey, click to their myspace page
at http://www.myspace.com/sportsmonkey.
I was at St. Pete's Dancing Marlin for the Second Annual Jeff
Canada and Friends Halloween
Bash. It was splendid!
It is pretty
much common knowledge that I often take a little time in this
newsletter to brag about the venues
I work for,
so why would this newsletter be any different? I just want to
announce that I have added a new venue to my roster and I now
work for Deco (510 W. Gray.) I will do their happy hour events
(so please book some with me and make my new bosses proud they
invited me to work there.) Want to know more about Deco Lounge?
Deco is an exciting artistic concept lounge in the heart of Houston's
thriving Midtown. Combining elements of the finest lounging accents
and decor, Deco features the finest selections of beverages,
music, entertainment, catering, and services in a warm inviting
atmosphere. No detail was overlooked in Deco's masterfully planned
design. Deco proudly enforces a strict non-smoking policy inside
which allows for a comfortable setting for all to enjoy the perfect
martini. With two open-air patio areas where smoking is optional,
Deco simply offers choices for those who enjoy mingling in the
cool smoke-free indoors or relaxing and socializing outdoors.
Ask me about our "Broadway Christmas" which would be
a memorable Christmas or corporate party. Click here to see the
flyer:

Deco is available for a variety of private, semi-private, and
open functions including happy hours, office parties, and all
special events. Contact me at 832-885-7274 to book your event
at Deco. For a calendar of my events, events I plan to attend
and flyers about them, visit my myspace page at www.myspace.com/houstonqueenofclubs.
One of my most favorite people on the planet, Joy Wise, and I
are co-hosting a happy hour on December 1st at Deco called "Hair
of the Dog." Please RSVP by clicking this link and feel free
to invite more friends.

We each have
new jobs so we are hosting a happy hour to celebrate those
facts. Joy has a "real job" at Mercer and I'm
now part-time at Deco. We have decided to support the Houston
SPCA so Deco will generously provide a complimentary drink if
you bring pet food or a monetary donation for the SPCA to this
party, and happy hour prices will be until 8PM for our party
on Friday the 1st. If you can't attend, please click to www.houstonspca.org to see how you can help. We plan to have a re"bark"ably
good time!
Let me tell
you all the FASHION FACE-OFF at Cotton Exchange on November
16th was smashing! It was also my bon-voyage party.
I am not leaving Houston (God forbid, the city would be so
BORING without me!) I am just leaving Cotton Exchange. I'm
very excited and proud that Cotton Exchange Lounge won three
#1 spots in the Citysearch.com "Best of Houston" awards. We
also placed within the top FIVE in other categories, but I'm
sort of competitive and I think anything less than first doesn't
count, in my book. We earned top honors in Best See and Be
Seen Bar, Best After-Work Bar and Best Singles Scene. Here
were our finals scores: After-Work Bar, See and Be Seen Bar
and Singles Scene all a perfect 10.0, Chill Scene 9.6, Happy
Hour 9.9 and Over-30 Singles Scene 9.7. Special thanks to Mel,
Karton, Antoine and Dawn for having had me work there, but
the time has come for me to move on. The scores were so close
at the Fashion Face-off that we had two winners. The judges
voted Lindsay Meabon in the #1 spot, but after tallying up
the audience vote, April Ann Designs had more points. Being
the cool chick I am, I quickly consulted with the prize sponsors
and arranged for BOTH of the girls to receive the packages.
There was also a performance by House Cats Cabaret, which I
couldn't have been any more THRILLED about! Their performance
was spectacular! See more of them at http://www.myspace.com/housecats.
If the surroundings look familiar in some of their photos it
is because they had a photo shoot at Cotton Exchange and the
end result was some most amazing pictures! This is an incredibly
talented dance troop, so make an effort to get out to see them
when you can.

NEWS
IN THE BIZ: Sunny Galore, promoter extraordinaire, promotes at Crome
every
Friday night. Paul Oakenfold, the #1 DJ on the
planet, will be at Planta Bar-Rio (6400 Richmond) on November
21st. Meet me there. Bad Boy Bill, who I would marry if he
asked me to, will be at 1415 California on December 15th and
I will
be there looking as hot as I possibly can. Speaking of hot
DJ's DJ Keoki will be at Shadow Bar on Sunday, November 26th
and it
is a free show! I'm so there too! Congratulations to Jennifer
Sheehan who won the 2006 Martini Mix-off Finals with her Mangito
Martini that was served in a martini glass whose base had a
live goldfish in it! The finals were held at Cotton Exchange
Lounge
on November 1st. Jennifer took home a buttload of cash and
a $100 gift certificate from the world's best limousine company,
R&R Partnership. I will revise the Martini Mix-off for
2007 and the competition will be a "mix-off" with the contestants
being handed a list of drinks to make, one to come up with
and
another with specific ingredients to be made on the spot. Guess
who is going to book happy hour parties for the soon-to-open
Identity Bar? ME! Exactly HOW many places do I work? I've lost
count.
As I count my blessings this Thanksgiving, one I will count
twice is to have had the honor of being Kip Webster's friend
for many years. Kippie passed away recently to go bartend in
Heaven and I, among MANY others, will miss him dearly. You will
always be my friend, Kipster! Mister Man, I miss you already.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! Be grateful for your friends and family
and don't take them for granted. Speaking of great friends, holiday
kisses to Bryan, Phillip, Wesley, Damien, Rodney, Stephanie,
Evan and Matt. Each of you know why you are so special to me
and I'm glad you will be part of my Thanksgiving.
